Queensland Motorcycle School’s Qride Course is a competency-based assessment course for you to obtain your RE OPEN/ P2 Licence after gaining your learner licence (RE L) from Queensland Transport or completing the Pre-Learner Course.
Course Overview & Curriculum
The Q-Ride RE course integrates comprehensive theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on riding application. The curriculum focuses on developing optimal rider attitudes, selecting appropriate protective apparel, and mastering advanced road craft.
The initial phase includes, slow-speed proficiency assessments covering the following core units:
-
- Slow-speed control and balance
- Figure-eight maneuvers
- Counter-steering techniques
- Emergency braking techniques
Training and Assessment Delivery
All mandatory on-bike competencies are first demonstrated by our team of fully qualified, accredited trainers. Participants are allocated dedicated track time to practice and refine these techniques prior to undergoing formal competency assessment for each mandatory unit.
Upon the successful completion of all slow-speed modules, candidates progress to the comprehensive on-road assessment phase. This component applies track-learned skills to real-world environments, navigating a diverse range of traffic scenarios from high-density urban settings to the open, flowing bends of the Sunshine Coast.
